This is really cool. This was right in my back yard in Albuquerque, NM

While out on a view of the back yard and playing with the dogs, I happened to come across this hole in the cement.  It looked like Black Widow webs so I just kind of waited around for a bit after I put the pets away.

And low and behold out comes two Black Widow spiders looking for some food.  They didn’t go far, but were on the prowl.

Well they are not there anymore, since there are pest running around in the yard all the time and I don’t want any of them to get bit by this guy, I had to get rid of them.

But the video shows some of the photo’s that I got of these gals as they were coming and going out of there home, check it, pretty cool.

The learning continues with Captain Dale the Bed bug sniffing dog

The last month has been filled with as many learning experiences as was the first week with Captain Dale at the Southern Star Ranch.

I had to get used to feeding bed bugs on my arm.

I have woken up everyday ( including weekends) before 6 am since June 5. The first time  I have done that since basic training over a decade ago.

I will continue this forever may be i can sleep in to 7 am one day. I have learned that attitude and mood is critical in working with Captain Dale. I have watched Captain Dale grow as a great dog and friend to me. I have worked extremely hard to be the best handler that I can be and know that I have lot to learn as well as have learned so much.

Captain Dale has such a powerful gift which is his nose and training. He and I have had to get to know each other over the last month and the only way we have is to practice and practice which we did.

I am pleased to say Captain Dale is very capable of finding LIVE BED BUGS. I am so proud of how hard he will work covering any object that is pointed out to him and will instinctively place his nose into the crevices of furniture looking for these heinous bugs.

We still have a lot to work on but each search we become better and better as a team. Its is only a mater of time that Captain Dale and I will need help with a second Detection Dog because of how busy Patriot Pest Control will be with bed bug work.
