Why Does a Cockroach Bite?

Does a cockroach bite?

A lot of people get very disgusted simply from the sight of a cockroach. The existence associated with cockroaches can often be perceived as being a sign that the premise just isn’t very hygienic. Therefore you might want to know what to do when cockroach bites? Treatment plan.

does a cockroach bite photoCockroaches come in different colors and dimensions in various parts of the world. Whether they bite or not, is dependent upon the species as well.

The Roach is the longest surviving creature

The cockroach is said to be the longest surviving earth creature since the dinosaur age. Inside a Science Daily post issued around 2001, geologists discovered the biggest complete fossil of a cockroach, which lived 55 million years before the dinosaur. The fossil found appeared to be like the tropic cockroach in this present day.

Now, how do cockroaches co-exist with humans and do they bite? The incidence of the cockroach that bites humans is extremely rare. They do not set off after human beings. Cockroaches are more interested in foodstuff.

They’re nocturnal and are going to snack on the smallest food crumbs they might discover on your floor. Since they come out and “hunt” for food at night, they will go after the tiniest food traces on the body.

Why does the roach bite you?

So, in the event you didn’t know that there are some cookie crumbs on your own pajamas while you are having your trusty bedtime snack and go to bed, there’s the chance that the cockroach may be interested in you.

That is definitely the main reason why you are not encouraged to have foodstuff around the bed. You may never tell when you have stained your bedsheet for the cockroach to ravage while you are deep in your sleep.

While the cockroach may be “scavenging” your body to look for any particles, it might accidentically begin to “chomp” at some parts of your body in its effort to discover food.

As described earlier, there are a few types of cockroaches. German cockroach is normally associated with biting. Some other varieties of cockroaches also bite but that is simply because generally, cockroaches are omnivorous – they devour every little thing. Consequently, in the search for food, they might nibble on your skin till they discover “proper” food to consume.

What to do if you are bit by a cockroach

does a cockroach bite 1 photoFor everybody who is the unlucky one that got bitten by a cockroach, fret not. A cockroach bite is exactly like any other insect bite. They are indicated by means of small red marks that usually scab over. It can be itchy. However, you are able to simply treat this using a disinfectant over the bite.

As usual, if this swells and does not recede after a couple of days, make sure you seek a doctors recommendation. Under no circumstances try to treat any puffiness on your own.

Roaches are vile. Because of their omnivorous nature, they may possibly have been recently subjected to dirty sewage and then sneak into the home and might end up being the carrier to diseases. If swelling happens after a couple of days, find expert guidance.

In order to prevent these inconveniences, it’s most desirable to continually ensure that your house will be tidy specially from food stains and crumbs. Store all food within air tight storage and stay away from eating in bed at all times. This will help you to not getting bit by a cockroach. So you now have the answer to the question of “do cockroaches bite“?

Centipede Extermination a Few Good Ideas

Centipede extermination

You see it crawling on the floor. It has multiple legs, in fact many legs. It’s brownish, elongated with different segments. It’s a centipede or millipede! So if you want to keep house clean then you must know about the centipede extermination.
There are various species of centipedes and they usually live outdoors in damp areas such as under leaves, stones, boards, tree bark, or around plants. However if you see one hanging around your house, it could be that it had gotten lost in your house.
But if your house is invaded by them, that means you’re housing what is known as ‘house centipede’s and it’s time to do something about it unless of course if you want to keep them as pets.
Most centipedes are usually harmless but some of these centipede’s bites might cause itchiness or minor illness. Therefore, it is better we exterminate them before it’s too late.

Centipede Exterminator Methods

Centipedes could be scary but like I said, they are usually harmless and so if you still have a soft heart for them, maybe you can use the “trap them in a jar” method.
This way, you do not have to commit any murder. After trapping the little creature, just make sure you cast them far far away so that they can’t find their way back to your house.
The other easy method of centipede extermination is to squash them or spray on them. If you are using the spray, bear in mind it is not easy to target your spray on centipedes as their numerous legs make them extremely fast.
The squashing method is easy; you just kill them by stepping on them or using an object to smash them but the only drawback with squishing centipedes is that you’ll spread centipede guts on the floor.
Alternatively, you can save energy chasing centipedes by setting up sticky traps instead of spraying or squishing. This method is usually better if you want to catch or exterminate a few centipedes. Place these traps along the corners of your house or places that you think centipedes are most likely to appear.

What do Centipedes Feed on?

Usually the centipedes visit your house because there is lots of food in there. Centipedes feed on insects or pests like cockroaches, bedbugs, termites, spiders and so, you should probably make sure your house is not housing some these. Then again, who would want pests like cockroaches or termites in the house? So basically the best way to get rid of all sorts of pest is to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the house.
They are many ways to get rid of centipedes but the best way exterminate centipedes is to prevent them from ever entering your house. The first way is to block all entry points such as holes or cracks by sealing them. This way, you can avoid having tiny centipedes exploiting those holes to get into your house.
As I’ve mentioned before, centipedes love to reside in moist areas. So, naturally to keep them away is to keep your home dry such as cleaning damp basements, attics, closets or places that could be home to centipedes. You can also use ‘dehumidifiers for this purpose. Overall, if you use any of the methods above, you’re sure to be successful in your centipede extermination operation.

How to Get Rid of Ants in the Home

Home remedies on how to kill ants

As the ground warms up in the spring, ants, who have been dormant in the earth during the colder weather warm up and come to the surface. Queen ants fly off to find new nesting areas…and before you know it, ants are back in our world and are starting to come inside the house.

We need to know how to kill ants around our home and how to get rid of ants in Albuquerque. While ants play an important roll in the ecosystem, it is no picnic when they become pests in our world.  Here you are going to find a remedy to kill ants.  You need to know some of the different types of ants too and we will talk about that too. But all too often, when people have a pest problem they run to the store and buy a can of toxic pesticide, come home and spray the pest.

Least toxic approach to killing ants

Let’s step back and take a look at handling ant problems using a least toxic approach and learn how to get rid of ants and keep them out of our environment.

Perhaps I should first define “least toxic approach.” This term means you try to solve the insect problem with the least toxic material. If that doesn’t work, then you try something a little toxic but not as toxic as poison. You keep trying to solve the insect problem using progressively more toxic substances until you find something that works.

Using this approach, the solution to your insect problem can range from doing nothing to spraying toxic insect killer, if that is the only thing that works. Why should you bother with a least toxic approach? For one thing, studies are beginning to reveal the serious side effects of the overuse of toxic pesticides in our environment.

Did you know that evidence suggests a risk for some types of cancer and even genetic damage from exposure to pesticides?

And perhaps worst of all, children are especially at risk. Why wait until science finally makes a direct link to damaged genes and pesticides?

By that time, the damage could already be done to your genes and those of your children. You can help protect yourself, your children and our planet by doing your part to be a good steward of our environment right now.

One way to do that is to adapt a least toxic approach to pest problems…and that’s what our article on getting rid of ants is all about.

Some examples of how to kill ants

Below find some ways to get rid of and idea’s on how to kill the ants in your home. Learn some of the different types of ants that room our world that can become a pest problem.

One of the products that is used in pest insulation is boric acid.  This product not only will rid your home of ants, but also many other pests including termites, spider’s and more.  Something to consider when you are building your new home is to have the best pest insulation installed.

I know that my wife uses many of these ideas, such as boiling water with cayenne pepper, another way she uses dish soap and tobacco juice on the lawn by spraying it for the ants.  They all make a great ant killer.

So to get rid of House ants, Sugar ants and the  Pavement ants, you need to use a sweet based bait. Most people have seen these types of ants.  The reason is they are very common.  If you have food laying around, you are probably going to find this ant close by. Sometimes these ants are mistaken.  The Sugar ant hails  from the Australia.  Now know that there are a lot of  different types of House ants.  Now most everyone has seen the Brown ant.  This little critter is the one that makes the little mounds of dirt in your driveway, or by your sidewalk.  Most have seen this.  A good trap that works well on Sugar ants is the brand of trap called Terro.

There is the Pharaoh Ants.  This is also a very common ant around the home.  It is called the sugar ant.  When trying to get rid of the Pharaoh ant a bait trap that usually does a good job is a sweet based type of ant trap.  One thing that you can say about this ant is it is very persistent.  Once it locates what it wants, there is no stopping it, it will go right after it.

The way that this ant survives is because it will consume and eat  anything, well just about (looks for surgar or other forms of protein).  Sometimes they are being blamed for the transfer of bacteria.  This dangerous bacteria is Staphylococcus and Psuedomonas.  If you put the sweet baits near trails and where the highest ant traffic is being seen, that should do the job.  This is a great way to control the ants.  Don’t forget about Terro, and the bait station that is sweet.

Most people know about this method for a natural type of ant prevention.  You have probably heard of using whole cloves?  It is also supposed to work with silverfish too, so give it a try on the ants.

Most people have used Diatomaceous earth to help in the garden.  Keeping out the crawling critters and worms is what is was used for mostly.  But new studies have shown that this product, now it must be food grade, can work wonders protecting your home from just about any pest that wants to try an invade.  It is really simple.  Make a line around your home with the Diatomaceous earth.  What this will do is help to cut up or kill just about anything that wants to crawwl on the ground into your home.  So guard your home by using this at the ground level.

Here is how and why the Diatomaceous earth is so effective.  It is really about what it is and how it is made.  The fossilized algae is very sharp, in fact looking more closely this algae is razor sharp on the edges.  As the pest start to crawl through the diatomaceous earth there exoskeleton is cut.  This will have the effect of poisoning the bug or causing the bug to dehydrate.  No matter how it works it is effective at killing crawling bugs that try to enter your home.  So it also make a perfect ant trap and will keep ants that are trying to get into your home out.

Another great method of keeping ants out of your home or from getting them out, is Borax.  When it comes to house ants and a way to control the ants, Borax is the answer.  Now what you are looking at is a product that is all natural.  Here is how you need to use this Borax mixture.  You see some ant trails around or in your home.  You know, you see them walking in a line to and from there food source.  Here is what you do.  Take a cup of warm water and mix into that a half cup of sugar, the warm water allows the sugar to dissolve easier.  Mix this up and then add yourself about two tablespoons of your Borax.  Now mix that in until it is dissolved.  Ok, now remember those trails that the ants were taking, soak a cotton ball or two in the mixture you just made and place that on the trail.  You have just stopped the ants from coming in your house, it is as simple as that.

There are a few idea’s on how to rid yourself of a ant problem.  We will go into other measures in future articles.  Don’t forget to contact Patriot Pest Control for all of your ant problems.  We are experts in this field, so when all else fails on how to kill ants, call us.
